Clear Creek Canyon
A 4,097 acre park with 5.8 trail miles is 19 miles and 29 minutes from Dragon Ranch
- This 1.75 mile trail connects downtown Golden and continues west to Tunnel 1 along US 6 has over 150 parking places
- Permanent restrooms and shaded structures
- The Gateway Segment of Clear Creek Canyon Park has a bike repair station
- Drinking fountains
- A pedestrian suspension bridge
- The trails are opened one hour before sunrise and one hour after sunset.

Peaks to Plains Trail (P2P) - if you have a bike and some time on your hands, this project is as ambitious as it is beautiful and inspiring
The goal is to connect the South Platte in Denver to the headwaters of Clear Creek
Will eventually connect four counties, seven cities and have a total elevation gain of more than 5280 ft.

Eldorado Canyon State Park is 16 miles (33 minutes) from Dragon Ranch
- Hike around the sandstone cliffs
- Offers 500 technical rock climbing routes which brings climbers from around the world

- A 14.8 mile drive located 28 miles (43 minutes) from Dragon Ranch

Black Hawk
Founded as in 1859 because of gold found in the area, Black Hawk was one of Colorado’s first municipalities
- Home to 15 casinos
- 24-7 gaming from Colorado’s biggest to some small family-owned saloons that speak to the history of the area.
- Peak to Peak Scenic Byway
- Begins/Ends in Estes Park and Black Hawk and goes through Allenspark, Ward, Nederland, Rollinsville and Central City
- In Allenspark are Chapel on the Rock and St. Catherine of Siena Chapel
- Nederland is home to restaurants, unique shops and seasonal festivals such as

- Started over 100 years ago by a brothel owner, Madam Lou Bunch Day, who saved the town by opening her beds to tuberculosis sick miners during an epidemic.

- In 2013 the city tried to ban cycling in the towns major streets to alleviate issues between foot and cycling traffic through town
- Black Hawk does not provides an alternative route when riding through town.
