Turkish Boz Puppies for Sale in Colorado

At Dragon Ranch in Black Hawk, Colorado, we breed and train Turkish Boz livestock guardian dogs. Our puppies are born in the barn and raised with the livestock they will one day protect: cows, sheep, goats, pigs, miniature horses and more. From day one they learn from Hafsa and the rest of our pack that playtime is with each other and that the herd is family. By the time they go home, they already have a head start most livestock guardian dogs don't get until much later.

Our Boz are protecting livestock and families all across the nation.

Living in the Colorado Rockies, our livestock would not survive without the courageous protection of our dogs. Our Boz guard against coyotes, mountain lions and bears, and even watch the sky for eagles. Yet they stay gentle with children of all ages.

Turkish Boz shepherd Hafsa

Hafsa

Turkish Boz Shepherds for sale

Queen of the Ranch and mother to numerous working pups across the country.

We rely on Hafsa to not only lead our pack of Boz, but Hafsa takes a very active role in training each litter of puppies.  She is a mother to all and will adopt any baby of the ranch.  With an old soul and a gentle heart, she has become the true matriarch of our entire Ranch.

Khan

Turkish Boz Shepherd guarding livestock and children

Khan is our stud! He has matured into an imposing gentle giant.

While Hafsa may be queen, Khan is all king, weighing in at over 200 pounds.  His deep bark is easy to distinguish at night as he leads our Boz pack working our sheep pasture.  When he’s not guarding our flock, Khan loves children and is always ready for a snuggle.

Turkish Boz Shepherd Zelda, breeding female

Zelda

Affectionately named after a grey fighting maiden, Zelda is stunning !

We call Zelda, along with her sister Zisa, the Z sisters.  Zelda is all cuddles.  Photos are hard to take of either sister as all they want to do is be with you and love on anyone who visits.  We are excited for them to be the future of our breeding girls.

Zisa

Zisa named after a goddess of war takes guarding very seriously.

Zisa and Zelda are typically always together.  They have learned how to be the best guardians ever as they follow Hafsa’s lead.  Zisa has become best friends with the ranch barn cats and likes to snuggle into the pig pile at night.

The rest of the Pack!!

Khan, Koba, Zisa and Zelda are the future of our breeding program.  But our Ranch is only safe because of our entire pack.  Runa had one liter two years ago.  We loved the litter so much we kept a male to stay in our house to guard our kiddo while he wanders the woods around the Ranch.  Runa’s has the honor of being our very firsts pup born to Hafsa.

Runa

Runa takes after her mother Hafsa and is a true mother to all.  Runa and Khan take the lead on our sheep pasture.

Charra

Charra’s favorite job is to clean the snow off of the sheep when they come into their barn.  Most of the sheep know Charra is the perfect nap companion.

Koba

Koba has big shoes to fill.  He is the last litter of Khan and Hafsa.  Our hope is for him to mature into the dog we know he will be, to continue Hafsa’s incredible lineage.  He’s a big goofy pup and is starting to learn what his job will be.

Shamus

Shamus is not working with the livestock with the rest of the pack.  But he has a very important job of guarding our kiddo.  Shamus lives in our house and is always ready to adopt orphaned babies that sometimes also find a way into our home.
