The thing about Dragons is the magic, mystery, and awe they inspire in us all. Our goal is that Dragon Ranch will do the same, whether you stay with us in our rentals, take home a Turkish Boz puppy to add to your own Ranch and family, or fall in love with our Longhorns!

While our Turkish Boz LGD’s (livestock guardian dogs) are the only reason we can ranch in the mountains of Colorado, all of our animals of all varieties fill our lives and our hearts.
Here is a little more about all of our animals, and the ranch we all call home.
Meet some of our animals!
Our largest herd is our Dorper Sheep. We have a dedicated herd of over 40 breeding ewes, known for their hardiness and excellent meat quality. Our ewes consistently produce lambs throughout the year, so there are usually lambs to meet on the ranch. Robert, our orphaned lamb, is in the herd and loves to come meet people. When we are not in the pasture he is more likely found with the dog pack than the sheep herd, as the dogs have become his surrogate moms.
Horse big and small!
Our ranch horses come in quite the variety of sizes. Our smallest are the mini horses. Coco is about the sweetest thing you will meet. She’s always willing to let any little one on her back to experience their first horse ride. Our largest is our Shire draft horse Asla. She’s 1800 pounds of pure muscle and heart. Hearing her run up the pasture for cookies is one of our favorite things to experience. After training her to drive, she is ready to start pulling her weight on the ranch in collecting down trees for winter firewood!
We can’t get enough of how cute and funny our KuneKune pigs are. Our favorite time is when we have piglets. When the winter starts to set in, the pigs curl up in a large pig pile in the barn at night. After the adults get set, the piglets climb on top of the pile!
Our Nigerian Dwarf goats play a dual role on the ranch: they help train our puppies by providing a controlled environment for socialization and learning, while also supplying us with fresh, nutrient-rich goat milk. Known for their friendly temperament and high milk yield, they are a valuable part of our ranch, contributing to both the growth of our puppies and our dairy needs. We occasionally have babies for sale!!
Sometimes overlooked, our barn cats play a vital role. Most of our extra feed is kept in the barn where our cats keep it free of mice and ground squirrels. Not the typical barn cats who you seldom see, our cats love attention. Most of time Padme is found riding on our shoulders like a parrot as we do barn chores, while the rest are underfoot looking for attention and treats!
No ranch is complete without some chickens and turkeys. We have a large flock of chickens that produce beautiful eggs for us almost year round. We also have several Narragansett turkeys. Our tom turkey Mickey will gobble for you if you give him a whistle. His two ladies Mallory and Mabel follow his lead. Mallory likes to follow us around as we make our pasture rounds.
We are a veteran-owned business with deep respect and admiration for our military and first responders. Having proudly served in the Army, we understand the sacrifices made for our freedom and safety. Our commitment extends beyond business; we honor and support our military and first responders in everything we do. From offering discounts to actively participating in community events, we strive to give back to those who serve and protect. All of our barns have been named after Medal of Honor recipients.
